Angelina College vs. Houston Christian University – Two Brothers in Competition

Today is a special day, being the first time our sons, Gabriel and Marcos, competed against each other in an official soccer match at Houston Christian University. To me, it didn’t really matter which team won. It was just great to see both playing on the same field at the same time, competing. It was also the first official game for Marcos to play after a long 3-year wait after two major ACL injuries.

I was so excited to have found Cida’s Zumba class, because it was a way to exercise and feel like I’m dancing to great music at the same time. However, it was Cida’sengaging smile and charming, playful personality that had me coming back. It was so much fun to sing and dance and be goofy if you wanted to!

Cida’s passion towards fitness was evident from the start and it motivated me to try the other classes she offered through the years and now her current Core and More class. I keep going back to this class because among other things, it’s good for gaining strength, balance and toning. As we are complaining, doing whatever exercises she has planned for the day, Cida usually exclaims “I can’t do it for you!” Funny, and so true; but it is because of her that I even attempted to take this type of class! I could never do a push-up nor a tricep dip before, but over time I’ve been able to!!

In her classes, and in her personal training sessions, Cida leads by example. Her knowledge and professionalism is outstanding and I can see how conscientious and focused she is. I’ve always admired her work ethic.

Over the years, her encouragement and her tips on healthy eating as well as her Zumba and Core classes, have given me more tools to lose the weight that I gained after moving here. Although I’m still a work in progress, I am happy to see some changes in my muscle mass and I feel that i’m on the right track. I trust Cida and because of her, my attitude towards exercise is more positive.
